Our tūpuna were remarkable storytellers, and just like our ancestors each of our carvings carries its own unique narrative. More than just art, or a generic 21st key, they are treasures that encapsulate stories and heritage.

Taonga tuku iho, carvings are treasures that can be passed down to continue this tradition of storytelling. A commissioned carving is an extremely meaningful gift, perfect for significant milestones and special occasions.

  • CREATE

    Upon accepting the project and receiving a deposit, carving will start on the agreed upon date. You will receive regular updates during the creative process as Mark crafts your taonga.

Can I use my own wood for a carving?

Yes, you are welcome to provide your own wood for a commission.

However, it's essential to ensure that the wood is suitable for the intended purpose and carving.

How long will it take to make my carving?

Whakairo is a timely process, so plan ahead and allow as much time as possible for your commission to be brought to life.

Having a carving blessed is a very personal choice, and while it is not a service we provide, we can provide guidance on who may be best suited for the task.

Can I take my carving overseas?

Absolutely. Once your carving is completed, you are free to take it overseas.

International transportation can be complex, so we can assist with the process, from fumigation to shipping, ensuring a smooth and secure journey for your carving.
